The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), Northwest Zone, has continued to express concern over the decision of the management of Audu Bako College of Agriculture, Danbatta, to disregard the directive of the Kano State Government to reinstate the chairman of the college’s ASUP branch, who was earlier removed from office unlawfully.
The complaint was made by the Chairman of the ASUP Northwest Zone, Dr. Abdul’azi Ibrahim Badaru, during a press briefing organized by the union in Kano.
Dr. Badaru explained that earlier, the Kano State Government, through the Deputy Governor and Commissioner for Higher Education, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, had ordered the reinstatement of Ahmad Haruna Muhammad after investigations proved that he committed no offense, and that due process was not followed before his removal.
According to Dr. Badaru, the union maintains a strong relationship with the Kano State Government, considering its commitment to the welfare of lecturers as well as the provision of teaching and learning facilities in schools.
He stressed that they will not relent in bringing their concerns to the attention of the government.
Similarly, the ASUP union has called on the management of Audu Bako College to reinstate the lecturer to his position as directed by the Kano State Government.
