Edufund Africa Initiative has officially appointed renowned Kannywood actress and TikTok sensation, Rashida Adamu Abdullahi, popularly known as Mai Sa’a, as its new Goodwill Ambassador.
The announcement was made during a meeting with board of directors of the initiative held at its headquarters in Abuja.
President of Edufund Africa Initiative, Mr. Oloruntoba Ayodele, alongside Vice President Hadiza Muhammad Wakili, made the declaration, citing Rashida’s wide-reaching influence and her passion for youth empowerment and education as key factors in the appointment.
“Rashida represents a new generation of African creatives who are using their platforms to inspire, educate, and empower.
Her commitment to community development and educational advocacy aligns perfectly with the mission of Edufund Africa Initiative,” said Mr. Ayodele.
Ms. Wakili added that Rashida’s popularity among the youth, particularly in Northern Nigeria, presents a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between education and entertainment.
“Through her voice, we believe we can reach more young people, especially girls, and encourage them to pursue their dreams through education,” she said.
In her acceptance speech, Rashida expressed gratitude for the honor and pledged to use her platform to support the initiative’s campaigns focused on educational access, especially for underserved communities.
“Education transformed my life, and I believe it can do the same for millions of others.
I am honored to serve as a Goodwill Ambassador for Edufund Africa Initiative,” she said.
Edufund Africa Initiative is a pan-African nonprofit organization committed to improving access to quality education across the continent.
The appointment of Rashida Adamu Abdullahi is part of its strategic efforts to engage influential personalities in promoting educational equity and youth development.
